Our Legacy Project

We want our Shepherd Family to grow. Our church council, staff and Pastor Rock Fremont work tirelessly to keep our church running from each blade of grass to every brick, to the refreshing air in our air conditioner, keeping the lights on both in our buildings and in our spiritual hearts AND the community at large. They cannot do that alone. Making one or a few short videos for marketing purposes was one tiny way I felt I could contribute to our Shepherd Family and hopefully in some small way bring in some new ones.

A PSA or ad can reflect what Shepherd does and what we offer and stand for. We say, God is still speaking? We are open and affirming? Let’s get the word out.

So, what I need from you, and I mean any of you, is the very necessary aspect of any video editing project: Footage! Footage! Footage! Yes, I know I said I got years of pictures and video, which is footage, but I still need/want more. This is where you can be of service.

Most of us have cell phones. We unconsciously use them when we are out and about, going to events, and even sometimes on Sunday services at Shepherd, right? Ever get your dog blessed by Rock on pet blessing day? Did you catch Larry and Judy giving that great performance at one of the fire pit First Friday nights? Did you go to the Langar dinner held recently? Or any interfaith event with Rock? How about the MLK, Jr. March? Did you go on our last Christmas caroling? Get the idea?

I would love to get pictures and videos from Shepherd members that were taken at Shepherd events, whether they were on our campus or at outside events with Shepherd folks. Like some of the examples I listed above. Anything you might have on your phone or computer that you can recall that might be a perfect pic or video of Shepherd life or people. Now, I am not asking for your picture library or a Noah’s Ark type flood situation, only a few that you think might be good. Pictures are great, video is even greater since this is for a Video Project! Also, hopefully you are getting out of the shooting video vertically habit and do so ONLY horizontally! Vertically shooting video catches only 1/3 of the action and it’s a holdover from older phones! Obviously, fair to good quality and large size/resolution is also best.

Either way, please send them in! This would also be a great habit for Shepherd members to build a library of pictures for prosperity, which makes sense to me going forward as well. In the old days, we would collect and develop paper pictures! Everything is digital now.

This “footage” could be included in our 30 second “PSA”. Again, we want to show people who see the video who Shepherd is, what we do and what we can offer!

So. You might be thinking. How? If I got some pics/video, how do I get them to Craig?
